The 2015 Key Stage 2 SATs results have once again shown Mere pupils beating the Government’s increased floor standards by a wide margin. The minimum standard expected, Level 4, was achieved by 88% of Mere School pupils compared to 80% nationally.
The number of pupils achieving the higher Level 4b was even more impressive, at 81%. The national average is 69%.
Headteacher Catriona Williamson said, “We’re proud to be a community primary school with a diverse population - we want the best possible outcome for every single child. We target teaching to the needs of each individual, making sure they enjoy a stimulating time at school and achieve their own personal best. I’m delighted that the results show success at Maths and English, but of course they don’t show all the other life-enhancing skills and knowledge our children are gaining!”
“We’re grateful for the enormous support we receive from our whole school community - this is vital to the children’s continuing personal development. I’d like to say a big thank you to staff for their hard work, and to the parents who are committed to ensuring children make such good progress in all areas.”
