'Up and Under’
This week we have been learning all about pirates. At the beginning of the week a pirate called ‘Captain Redbeard’ sent us a letter and a treasure map. He had stolen Fraser Bear and we had to follow the treasure map in order to find him. Luckily we found him safe and sound. We were then inspired to make our very own treasure maps.
This week we have written pirate stories, made pirate ships and pirate necklaces.
In preparation for our school trip, we went on a minibeast hunt in our school grounds to see what we could find.
On our school trip to Carymoor we learnt about different animal habitats and we went on an animal hunt. Along with lots of minibeasts we were lucky enough to see some slow worms. During our visit we made minibeasts out of clay and dragonflies out of willow. We also had great fun building our very own shelters!

We have enjoyed introducing our new Fairy Tales topic. As a class we have created a story map for 'The Three Little Pigs'. We have then used our maps to practise re-telling the story. We have thought of some fantastic actions to make the story come alive!
