Stonehenge

Despite the rain and the cold, Gold Class had a wonderful time visiting Stonehenge on Wednesday! Our guides were so knowledgeable and taught us lots of cool facts! After walking around the stones and listening to the guides, we went to a classroom to learn more about the lifestyle of Bronze Age people. Then, we went to the visitor centre and watched a 3-minute video on a 360° screen. In this video, we could see the creation of Stonehenge from 3000 BC up to now. We also saw the different stages of the construction, where the sun rises on the summer solstice and where it sets on the winter solstice. Did you know that the word 'solstice' meant 'sun stands still'? smiley We had a fantastic day that we won't forget! We also got a really nice postcard that we will send to our French friends!
