This half term in French, we are learning about literary genres.
Using the four skills (reading, listening, speaking and writing) we are learning to understand people's opinions and express our own. Purple Class have been using this sentence builder that I created in order to support their learning 
Les matières (school subjects)
This half term, Purple Class have been learning about school subjects.
At the beginning of the unit, we learnt the words for ten different school subjects.
Then, we learnt how to give an opinion (for example: I like, I don't like) and a reason (for example: because it is interesting). It is important for the children to be able to express their opinion and give a reason when they learn French as it gives them a solid foundation which they will develop further at secondary school.
We finally learnt how to say the time in French and we were able to say what subject we study on what day and at what time.
I was really impressed with their final piece of writing. You can see an example above.
