This half term, Green Class are starting a new unit called 'Au salon de thé' from the website Language Angels.
In this exciting unit, we will be exploring some French specialities both in terms of food and drinks. Green Class will have the opportunity to taste grenadine syrup which is a favourite among French children. This unit offers a wholesome, cross-curricular experience. Beyond language acquisition, this unit integrates numeracy into its activities including the use of euros. From understanding the currency system and practising with euros to learning the art of polite ordering at a French café, the children will develop a good skill set! This is a unit I am really excited about. I have had some feedback from some of our children who did this unit last year and were able to apply their knowledge effectively when travelling to France with their family. You can have access to the Knowledge Organiser and Language Builder below which will help the children to reinforce vocabulary skills at home. Scroll down for more about this unit :)
Santé ! The children in both Green Classes finally tasted a cup of grenadine and they now understand why it's so popular among French children
