Holidays during term time

The Government continues to enforce rigorous procedures around term time absence and SCHOOLS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO AUTHORISE ANY HOLIDAY ABSENCE.  However, the governors are able to consider a 'Leave of Absence' in 'exceptional circumstances.' Family holidays do not fall into this category.

Headteachers are expected to uphold the law. If a child has an unauthorised absence of more than 9 sessions (4.5 days), schools should pass the paperwork to the Fixed Penalty Officer at the Local Authority - in this case, Wiltshire Council. We have high expectations for every child, and to achieve the best possible progress they must be in school. We are grateful to school parents for their continued support.
