Winter Tree Poems

This week was our Winter Tree Poetry Week. We started the unit with an outdoor exploration. The children observed the characteristics of deciduous winter trees and took some pictures with their iPads. Back in the classroom, we took a moment to look at the children's pictures. Our observations turned into lively discussions where the children personified the trees, imagining how they might feel, move or even what they might say if given a voice. We analysed different winter tree poems and identified what made a good poem before having a go at writing our own on Friday!
