Mere School Curriculum Statement
At Mere School we believe all our children have the right to succeed, to have high aspirations for their future lives and develop who they are in a respectful and caring environment. Our school ethos is firmly rooted in our school vision -

At Mere we provide the children with a rich and stimulating art curriculum where they can enjoy, learn and achieve and are proud to have been awarded ARTS MARK GOLD in recognition of our commitment to art at Mere School.
The school is well resourced and provides the children with quality media to enable them to produce work of a high standard. We regularly enter work into exhibitions and competitions and have been awarded several prizes over the past years. Most of out work focuses on painting and drawing but children also have opportunities during their time at school to explore printing, textile work, collage, and 3D media. We are lucky to have a small kiln and so all children have the opportunity to work with real clay that can be fired and glazed.

There is an weekly art and pottery club for children who wish to participate in extra curricular activities and we also offer extra opportunities for children who show particular talent.
